Oak Hills Academy is an exclusive private school offering local and
international syllabi, with excellent hostel facilities.
We are a co-educational institution, located just above T-Junction Filling station.
Just a kilometer Nhlangano main bus terminus.
The school was established on the premises that a child is likened to an eagle, which is
fearless, has great vision that soars higher than the other birds.
Our Philosophy And Approach Are Based On Three Lofty Natural Wonders Of Creation
The oak is ever green and thrives in all weather conditions even in the desert! It remains ever prosperous, preserved and productive, that is exactly how our academy purports to be in all aspects for smooth operations. The oak symbolizes resilience, stability and capability which OHA aims to emulate from our educators to our learners.
The hills and mountains are conspicuous landmarks that are formed by faulting or erosion. Hills are revered as Sacred ground religiously. As such we believe that OHA is an attractive and dignified place that is premised on moral and behavioral standards that set it apart from other schools. We climb up the hill holding the learners with our hand to reach the pinnacle where we look past the hard work of moving up but, seek the divine intervention of the Lord (Psalms 121). The academy trusts God and regards this aspect as a base and foundation in which wisdom emanates for accelerated accomplishments.
The eagle is not only famous for its sharp eyes but its unique ability from other birds to soar above all adversity. It is this mentality of the eagle that our educators will strive to embody and pass on to our pupils so that they can be over-achievers who excel to heights that the average deems impossible. The prowess and bull’s eye focus of the eagle is the same trait that the students will learn so that they can set goals and execute them accurately and exceptionally.
Our school offers an IEB (Independent Examination Board) curriculum. This is an international curriculum that better equip students for further education and training studies. It also gives students critical thinking and problem solving skills that are essential for building creativity in students. Learners are taught to apply the knowledge they pick up and not just to parrot or repeat learning style. It is important to note IEB stands head and shoulders above the famous Matric. Matric have the same pass rate requirements, same South African Curriculum and the same NSC certificate, however with opportunities to apply for tertiary institutions not only in South Africa but other African and international universities. The assessment methodologies employed by IEB is superior. The IEB is more rigorous and focused on critical thinking, problem-solving, and application of knowledge. IEB teaches learners to be more extensive in approach and encourages them to think critically and form arguments, rather than leaning more towards regurgitating.
